Garmin

Garmin was founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Kao in Lenexa, Kansas — the name a blend of their first names. Starting with GPS hardware for aviation and marine use, Garmin produced one of the first handheld GPS devices in 1991 before expanding into sports and fitness. In 2006, the first Edge GPS cycling computer replaced cadence magnets and wheel sensors with satellite-based speed, distance, and mapping data — changing how cyclists train. To put the product in front of the right audience, Garmin sponsored the Garmin-Chipotle professional cycling team in 2008. Today the company operates in 34 countries with revenues exceeding $7 billion.

RA Cycles stocks the Garmin cycling lineup across four categories. The Edge series covers GPS cycling computers: the Edge 550 for button-controlled performance riding, the Edge 850 for the full-featured touchscreen experience with advanced navigation and training insights, and the Edge MTB for trail-specific routing and mountain bike metrics. The Rally power meter pedals are available in three pedal platforms — SPD-SL (RS) for road riders on Shimano, Look Kéo (RK) for riders on Look-compatible systems, and SPD (XC) for off-road and mountain use — each offered in single-sided and dual-sided configurations, making it possible to match a Garmin power meter to nearly any clipless pedal setup on the market. The Varia Rearvue 820 provides radar-based rear traffic detection with up to 140 meters of range, integrated with Edge computers for real-time vehicle alerts. The Fenix 8 Pro AMOLED rounds it out as Garmin's premium multisport GPS watch — tracking cycling, running, swimming, and more from a single device.
